Glean Pilot Strategy for Connector Setup

Our goal is help you prove the value of Glean as soon as possible. To ensure your success, we have developed a strategic approach outlined below.

First, we strongly recommend establishing a Pilot User Group. The Pilot User Group should be comprised of individuals within your company who will be actively testing Glean. We suggest keeping this group relatively small, ideally fewer than 100 users.

Additionally, we advocate for initially testing with documents created or modified within the past six months from the following key data sources:

• Google Drive
• Box
• Slack
• SlackEnterpriseGrid
• Jira

By concentrating on this specific time frame, we can efficiently showcase Glean's capabilities and relevance to your workflow. Should we encounter any pertinent information missing from Glean due to this timeframe constraint, we can promptly address this by incorporating the necessary content. 

Furthermore, we advise implementing greenlists for specific data sources to optimize Glean's performance:

• Sharepoint - We require selecting specific sites to be crawled to mitigate the presence of non-relevant Sharepoint sites commonly found in large organizations.
• Github - We recommend you select specific repositories if you have more than 50 repositories. 
• Confluence - We recommend you select specific spaces if you have more than 2 million docs.

You will be able to specify these values during Glean setup on the Glean Connectors Setup pages. Any datasources not explicitly mentioned will be crawled without limitation.
